ART Program Officer
The Western Province Medical Officer (WPHO) in conjunction with U.S. Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is implementing progams to improve the management of TB, STIs and HIV Care, Support and Treatment services in the Province.
Western Province Medical Office is looking for suitably qualified individuals to take up the following position:
ART Program Officer
Location: Provincial Medical Office , Mongu
Reports to: TB/HIV Program Coordinator
Reports to: TB/HIV Program Coordinator
Essential Duties and responsibilities
- Coordinates provision of quality HIV Care, Support and Treatments
- Monitor implementation of HIV Care, Support and Treatment Services
- Writes the HIV Care, Support and Treatment component of the continuation plans and other related reports with minimal supervision
- Organizes and provides leadership in implementing quality ART interventions in accordance with National protocols
- Ensures timely implementation of HIV care, support and treatment services and submission of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and Annual reports
- Monitors and evaluates adherence to reporting timelines and tracks progress towards achievement of program targets.
- Coordinates ART capacity capacity building activities to ensure availability of skilled ART providers
Qualifications and experience
- A minimum of a Diploma in Clinical Medical Sciences or equivalent. A Degree or higher qualification will be an added advantage.
- Trained ART provider in both Adult and Pediatrics.
- At Cast 3 years experience in managing ART programs.
- Must be a clinical mentor
- Registered with a valid practicing license from relevant regulatory body.
Skills, abilities and competencies
Must have excellent written and verbal and communication skills.
i) Must have good spoken and written communication skills
ii) Must have leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills
iii) Must be computer literate in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
