The Electoral Commission of Zambia seeks to recruit of qualified and experienced Zambian national to fill in, the position of 

To procure goods works and services ensuring value for money in compliance with Commission Policy

Reporting to the Head – Procurement

• Bachelors degree in any relevant field
• Post-Graduate Diploma in Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)
• Valid Membership of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MZIPS)
• Three (3) years post qualifying relevant experience in Public Procurement

• Conducts procurements as per annual procurement plan
• Prepares draft tender documents for the procurement of goods and services
• Disseminates tender to prospective suppliers of goods and services and receive tenders.
• Manages tender evaluations and communication of procurement decisions to relevant stakeholders such as user departments and suppliers.
• Prepares evaluation templates that will ensure the objective evaluation of bids on the basis of price quality and delivery and undertakes technical evaluations.
• Drafts Committee Papers for the Procurement Committee.
• Responds to customer and supplier inquiries.
• Negotiates with approved suppliers to obtain the most competitive price, quality and delivery.
• Follows up the supply of goods and services as per contract.
• Prepares inputs for contracts
• Maintains records of suppliers and performance.
• Surveys the market for prices and delivery conditions

To carry out audit tasks to achieve the Commission objectives and ensure compliance with statutory and other regulations

Reporting Accountability

Reporting to: The Internal Auditor

• ZICA II, CAT, AAT in or equivalent
• Membership of Zambia Institution of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)
• At least three (03) years post qualifying experience
• Relevant work experience in accounting and internal Audit with reputable institution.
• Knowledge and or experience in the use of computerized accounting packages shall be or added advantage

• Plans and Conducts audit assignments
• Develops tools for use the conduct of audits
• Prepares audit working papers required in the conduct of the audit
• Prepares audit report identifying strengths and weaknesses, findings and recommendations

• Self starter
• Good communication skills
• Computer literate
• Team player
• Minimum Supervision

To maintain accurate records of receipts and expenditure to meet the obligations of the Commission

Reporting to the Accountant – Payables

• Grade twelve (12) Certificate
• Degree in Accounting or equivalent and ACCA II, CIMA II, ZICA II or higher; and
• Must be a member of ZICA
• Not Less than two (2) year experience in Accounting

• Daily processing of transactions in the Accounting software (FMS/Sun Systems)
• Preparation of bank reconciliation
• Coordination and update of imprest retirement as per Commission’s policy
• Responsible for updating debtors and creditors
• Supervising the Accounts Assistants
• Performing any other accounting duties as may be assigned from time to time
