Business Development Officer - Institution of Directors of Zambia
The Institute of Directors of Zambia is a leadership forum, committed to the development of members through education, and training and exchange of information in order to enhance the quality to leadership and Corporate Governance in the private and public sectors in Zambia. We are seeking for innovative and ambitious professionals to fill in the vacant position as follow;
Business Development Officer
Reports to: Executive Director
Overall purpose of the job:
To ensure that marketing strategy and policy is developed to enable loDZ achieve its objectives and continuously Improve its performance
To support the Executive Director to ensure that effective policies. strategies and other plans are developed and implemented Other aspects of the role include: research, benchmarking, best practices, and other special projects as directed
Duties and Responsibilities:
• lnitiate and participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic plans, business plans and operational policies and procedures for the Institute.
• Initiate, progress and complete identified tasks and projects as required in the business planning process
• Initiate marketing strategies and coordinate actions resultant from such strategies and actions in order to influence positive outcome in the market.
• Research best practices with other like minded organizations so as to ensure that best practice is incorporated into the Institutes procedures, processes and policies.
• Implement projects specified by committees, which are included in the annual work plans as approved by the Board and directed by the Executive Director
• Initiate and develop opportunities for training workshops and presentations
• Follow up and actualize new business opportunities
• Compile and maintain accurate records of all loDZ business activities.
• Take part in audits of operational practices in consultation with ED making recommendations and setting up systems designed to improve service delivery

Qualifications and experience
• Full grade 12 certificate
• A minimum of a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing and/or in any relevant or similar field
• Professional qualification in Marketing and or relevant field will be an added advantage
• At least five (5) years’ experience in similar position
• 3 years’ experience or more in business planning
• Demonstrate post qualification experience at middle management level in strategic role
• Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of accepted good practice in business development or marketing within the public and private sector
• A minimum of a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing and/or in any relevant or similar field
• Professional qualification in Marketing and or relevant field will be an added advantage
